2022 Libro Transitis Per Viam Tercera Edición

 



Transitis Per Viam.

El Camino de Santiago en imágenes.



¿De qué se trata?



Es un proyecto editorial editado en forma de libro, se imprimió en Noviembre del 2019 y nuevamente en Julio 2020. No tiene fines comerciales ni de lucro, su propósito es permitir a quien recorra sus páginas conocer o recordar de forma visual, en registros fotográficos de primera calidad, todas las etapas del Camino Francés que parte de Saint Jean Pied de Port y termina un poco más allá de Santiago de Compostela, en un lugar de la costa llamado Finisterre, siguiendo la milenaria ruta que han transitado y lo siguen haciendo, millares de peregrinos procedentes de todo el mundo.

 


No es una guía turística sino un recorrido visual y anecdótico. El prólogo está escrito por un experimentado peregrino, Tomas de Híjar Ornelas, y las imágenes son obra del fotógrafo y peregrino José Martínez Verea, quien también escribe una breve introducción en cada capítulo así como los pies de foto.



¿Cómo es el libro?

  
Las dimensiones del libro son de 20.5 x 27.5 cm, con 248 páginas interiores, en opalina mate de 210 gm, con pasta dura. 



Se entremezclan 790 fotografías a color y en blanco y negro, así como cinco páginas dobles de collages con los signos jacobeos más relevantes (vieras, peregrinos, cruces, flechas y Santiagos).

 


¿CUAL ES EL FIN O EL PROPÓSITO DE ESTE LIBRO?


Es ofrecer un excelente producto gráfico el cual ya demostró ser un magnífico obsequio para clientes o amigos y por supuesto animar a la gente a realizar este recorrido, o si ya eres peregrino, volver al Camino.
 


Estoy pensando en imprimir una tercera edición pues mucha gente me lo ha estado pidiendo.

1962 Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico




1983 – 1985 Studied photo with the master photographers Dominique Sudre and Susana Chaurand. 
1985-1989 Freelance advertising photographer.
1989 Opens his own photo studio for advertising and fine art photo.


1992 Honorific mention in the Nikon's photo contest issue, at Tokyo, Japan.




1994-2002 Collaboration with museums, magazines and also in many art books.


1997 & 1999 Photographic specialization studies at the "Maine Photographic Workshops." 


2001-2003 More photo workshops with master photographers like: Joan Foncuberta, Julio Galindo and many others.

1999-2002 Photography teacher at the Panamericana's University.
 

 2004 Winner of a scholarship at the Vermont Studio Center. 



2006-2008 Invitation from the “ Cabañas Cultural Institute” to develop a workshop on Fine Art photo.
 

2010-2016 Creating fine art, advertising and decorative photo also giving photography workshops at my studio.

2022 Publication and presentation at Casa Iteso Clavigero, of a book of portraits, entitled "Face to camera." A project that took 10 years to complete.
 
2023 Publication of a short review of Jose Martínez's artistic work in the photography magazine Cuartoscuro.
 
2024 Solo exhibition at the Zapopan Municipal Archive, with the portfolio entitled: “Exercises of the frontal lobe, in the right hemisphere.”

2024 Work together with Gutierre Aceves, for the donation of Susana Chaurand's photographic work to ITESO, Jesuit University of Gdl. And the preparation of an exhibition entitled: "In Praise of Light."
